description La presente investigación de corte psicométrico, tuvo por objetivo determinar las evidencias de validez del cuestionario de depresión para niños en estudiantes de secundaria de Otuzco. La muestra estuvo conformada por 509 adolescentes, quienes cumplían con los criterios de inclusión. Se lograron determinar las evidencias de validez basadas en la estructura interna por medio del análisis factorial confirmatorio, se observaron índices de ajuste adecuados para el modelo de dos dimensiones (X2/gl<3, RMR<.08, GFI>.90, NFI>.90, RFI>.90, PGFI>.70 y un PNFI .906). La confiabilidad se obtuvo por medio del método de consistencia interna de coeficiente Omega del Cuestionario Infantil de emociones positivas, encontrando un coeficiente Omega de .97 en total depresivo y de .70 en total positivo; entre sus escalas oscila de .74 a .84.
