description Se tuvo por objetivo analizar la cultura ambiental en educación superior universitaria. Para la revisión, se empleó la búsqueda sistemática, y se seleccionaron 16 trabajos científicos relevantes al tema a estudiar. La cultura ambiental es la característica principal de la educación ambiental porque ambas tendencias pueden enriquecer el conocimiento de la educación ambiental y hacer que los humanos tomen conciencia de su papel y su responsabilidad en la gestión y protección de los recursos de los ecosistemas. El manejo de la información obtenida de los artículos analizados permite integrar la educación para la globalización, con prácticas docentes que relacionan las complejidades de la vida humana con el planeta, dentro del paradigma del desarrollo sostenible y con el proceso de educación ambiental encaminado a comprender el proceso de desarrollo ambiental.
