description El presente trabajo de investigación nos lleva a visualizar, todo lo concerniente al tema de la actitud como elemento principal a tener en cuenta en el desempeño del estudiante en el área de matemáticas, el trabajo se basa en antecedentes históricos nacionales e internacionales, realidades que se asemejan a nuestra realidad problemática, buscamos ofrecer conceptos modernos, de manera que nos puedan centrar en el tema de investigación, así como también diferenciar los conceptos de actitud y aptitud vital para el entendimiento del tema principal de la investigación, la importancia de la actitud en nuestros estudiantes contemporáneos, eje principal para la consecución de la motivación para el aprendizaje de las matemáticas. Finalizamos con conclusiones y recomendaciones para efectos de que los mismos sirvan como referencia a docentes y estudiantes que de alguna u otra forma se interesen en este tema importante y potencialicen sus actitudes en matemáticas.
