INFLUENCIA DE LA TÉCNICA DE DISTRACCIÓN AUDIOVISUAL EN EL MANEJO DE ANSIEDAD EN PACIENTES PEDIÁTRICOS ATENDIDOS EN LA CLÍNICA ESTOMATOLÓGICA DE LA UNIVERSIDAD SEÑOR DE SIPÁN – 2016

RESUMEN El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar la influencia de la técnica de distracción audiovisual en el manejo de ansiedad en pacientes pediátricos atendidos en la Clínica Estomatológica de la Universidad Señor de Sipán – 2016. Fue una investigación cuantitativa, experimental, prospectiva-transversal y analítica. Se realizó con la participación, previa autorización de los padres, de 80 pacientes pediátricos entre 6 y 9 años de edad, divididos de manera aleatoria en dos grupos; grupo A: con técnica de distracción audiovisual y grupo B: sin técnica de distracción audiovisual. Se le mostró al niño una serie de videos animados durante el tratamiento restaurador realizado bajo anestesia local y aislamiento absoluto. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el valor de la prueba chi cuadrado es altamente significativo (p<0.01) por lo que existe diferencia significativa en el manejo de ansiedad en pacientes pediátricos, entre los dos grupos evaluados. La técnica de distracción audiovisual influyó de manera positiva en el manejo de ansiedad dental, que presentaron los pacientes durante el tratamiento odontológico.Palabras claves: ansiedad, medios audiovisuales, odontología pediátrica. (Fuente: DeCS BIREME) ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to determine the influence of the technique of audiovisual distraction in the management of anxiety in pediatric patients treated at the Stomatological Clinic of the Universidad Señor de Sipán - 2016. It was an investigation quantitative, experimental, prospective-transversal and analytical. It was done with the prior authorization of the parents, with the participation of 80 pediatric patients between 6 and 9 years of age, divided at random in two groups; group A: with audiovisual distraction technique and group B: without audiovisual distraction technique. The child was shown a series of animated videos during the restorative treatment performed under local anesthesia and absolute isolation. The results obtained show that the value of the chi square test is highly significant (p <0.01), so there are significant differences in the management of anxiety in pediatric patients, in the two groups evaluated. The technique of audiovisual distraction has a positive influence on the management of dental anxiety, which patients present during dental treatment.Keywords: anxiety, audiovisual media, pediatric dentistry.
