Descripción
Sumario:The problem observed in the warehouse of an auto parts company is the high picking process times due to the lack of continuous improvement tools in the process itself. The objective of this research is to propose a picking process management model to reduce order fulfillment times through the use of the 5S methodology. To achieve this, an empirical study with a quasi-experimental and post-positivist approach was conducted, using a case study methodology. The study revealed differences in preparation times depending on the type of operator in the warehouse, and through the implementation of the 5S methodology and work standardization, a significant reduction in picking time was achieved: 41.37% for new operators, 32.80% for standard operators, and 11.82% for experienced operators.
