Sumario:The main objective of this research was to determine the role that preschool and primary teachers give to an emotional education in the students learning process. To approach this objective, the investigation was conducted with a qualitative approach. Eleven teachers belonging to the same private educational institution were interviewed, using depth interviews as a tool for collecting data. It was evident that the majority of participants do not have a clear conceptualization of what emotional education is, this happens because there is little knowledge of the concept and what it implicates. Likewise, it was found that all participants consider the application of an emotional education essential, however, they consider that there are many factors that do not allow them to do it properly, which is affecting the development process of the students.
