Cairo (2011) plantea otra clasificación para identificar la severidad de la recesión y el pronóstico en el tratamiento dando un parámetro de diagnóstico más confiable y con mayor repercusión positiva en la aplicación clínica. Lamentablemente existe escasa información sobre la frecuencia de recesiones gingivales en nuestro sistema de salud para así mejorar las políticas de salud pública para el beneficio de la población. Objetivo: Determinar la frecuencia de recesiones gingivales en pacientes que acuden a un Centro Dental Docente, Lima-Perú, 2015-2024. Materiales y métodos: Es un estudio de tipo transversal. La información se obtendrá de las historias clínicas del Servicio de Periodoncia e Implantes del Centro Dental Docente, de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima-Perú, 2015-2024. Se realizará un análisis descriptivo y bivariado de las variables del estudio en función de los resultados encontrados. Conclusiones: Los resultados del estudio serán significativos porque servirán como precedentes para futuros estudios similares. Así también, es relevante realizar esta investigación porque aportará a constatar que las recesiones gingivales se manifiestan con una alta frecuencia, por ende, que requerirán precisar políticas de salud pública en el país para mejorar la salud gingival de la población.

Therefore, it´s diagnosis and treatment is essential. Miller's classification (1985) has been the most used for diagnosis, however, it has many limitations. Cairo (2011) proposes another classification to identify the severity of the recession and the prognosis in treatment, giving a more reliable diagnostic parameter with a greater positive impact on clinical application. Objective: Determine the frequency of gingival recessions in patients treated at a Teaching Dental Center, Lima-Peru, 2015-2024. Materials and methods: It is a cross-sectional study.
