Sumario:Background: there is little research that measures the perception of the quality of care of the technical nursing staff, so knowing this problem will contribute to the improvement of care, guaranteeing the well-being of the patient. Objective: to determine the perception of the elderly patient about the quality of care provided by the technical nursing staff during their stay in the Medicine services of the National Hospital of Lima. Material and Method: study with a quantitative approach, descriptive type, cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 55 elderly patients hospitalized in Medicine services. For data collection, the interview technique was used, and the “perception of nursing care” questionnaire was used as an instrument, prepared by Zapata Durango S. with a Cronbach's alpha reliability of 0.755. The results obtained were processed in a database for subsequent analysis in the Stata / SE 15.0 program. Results: it was observed that 67.3% of the patients perceived a moderately favorable level of quality of care, while 14.5% perceived an unfavorable level of quality of care. Conclusions: it was evidenced that the perception of the elderly patient about the quality of care of the technical nursing staff was moderately favorable.
