Se incluyó a pacientes con diagnóstico de cirrosis hepática mayores de 18 años y se excluyó a aquellos con diagnóstico de enfermedad pulmonar o cardiaca, descompensación aguda y/o evidencia de infección. Resultados: Se evaluó a 297 pacientes, con un predomino de pacientes masculinos (55.6%). La edad promedio fue de 61 años. Se encontró dos pacientes con síndrome hepatopulmonar, ambos de sexo femenino, clasificándose como leve y severo, obteniendo con ello, una prevalencia de 0.7%. Conclusión: La prevalencia del síndrome hepatopulmonar es muy baja en la población de pacientes con cirrosis hepática atendidos en el Hospital Cayetano Heredia.
