Materiales y método: Se llevó a cabo un estudio descriptivo transversal prospectivo, se encuestó 372 pacientes con infección por VIH atendidos en PROCETSS (Programa de Control de Enfermedades de Transmisión Sexual y Sida) que acuden al Servicio de enfermedades infecciosas y tropicales del Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia y la información recolectada se guardó como base de datos virtual (Excel) para su posterior evaluación estadística a través de software científico. Resultados: Se evidenció un buen conocimiento respecto a la Hepatitis B (80% respuestas correctas) y brechas respecto a la vacunación (40% respuestas correctas). Respecto a las actitudes, hubo una buena disposición por parte de los participantes (90% de acuerdo con los comportamientos mencionados) de seguir informándose, vacunarse y reconocer a la Hepatitis B como un potencial riesgo en sus vidas. Conclusión: Hubo buena recepción e inclinación hacia la vacunación contra la Hepatitis B, los participantes y la población en general se beneficiaria de más información al respecto y hay interés y disposición en la prevención de la Hepatitis B.

In vulnerable populations such as HIV-infected patients, it poses a high risk of morbidity and mortality. Objective: Determine the knowledge and attitudes regarding vaccination against Hepatitis B in patients living with HIV at the Cayetano Heredia National Hospital. Materials and method: A prospective cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out, 372 patients with HIV infection treated in PROCETSS (Program for Control of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS) who attend the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Service of the Cayetano National Hospital were surveyed. Heredia and the information collected was saved as a virtual database (Excel) for subsequent statistical evaluation through scientific software. Results: Good knowledge regarding Hepatitis B (80% correct answers) and gaps regarding vaccination (40% correct answers) were evident. Regarding attitudes, there was a good willingness on the part of the participants (90% in agreement with the aforementioned behaviors) to continue informing themselves, get vaccinated and recognize Hepatitis B as a potential risk in their lives.
