This article presents the state of the art about the relationship between family and academic performance. A systematic search was conducted in journal articles published between 2015 and 2020, indexed in the Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection (EBSCO) and Scopus databases. The information is organized on four family variables: parenting style, family organization, the presence of family crises, migration and multiculturalism; in international information and local information. A positive relationship was found between academic performance and an early family involvement, an authoritative parenting style, good family functioning, a good attitude towards adverse life events or coming from Latino or Asian migrant families. Future perspectives and recommendations are presented, under a psychological and multidisciplinary vision. |

Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática de información entre los años 2015 a 2020, publicada en las bases de datos Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection (EBSCO) y Scopus. La información es presentada en función a cuatro variables familiares: el estilo de crianza, la organización familiar, la presencia de crisis familiares, migración y multiculturalidad tanto a nivel internacional como en ámbito local. Se encontró una relación positiva entre el involucramiento familiar temprano, un estilo de crianza autoritativo, un buen funcionamiento familiar, una buena actitud ante eventos vitales adversos o provenir de familias migrantes latinas o asiáticas y el rendimiento académico.
