NIVEL DE CONOCIMIENTO SOBRE EL MANEJO DE EMERGENCIAS MÉDICAS DE LOS CIRUJANOS DENTISTAS

RESUMENEl objetivo fue determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre el manejo de emergencias médicas de los cirujanos dentistas que laboran en la clínica estomatológica USS. Se aplicó un cuestionario de 20 preguntas sobre manejo farmacológico, paro cardiorrespiratorio, síncope vasovagal, crisis hipertensiva, síndrome convulsivo y anafilaxis a un total de 22 cirujanos dentistas. De los 22 participantes 14 pertenecen al género masculino y 08 al género femenino. 13 indicaron haber llevado el curso electivo de primeros auxilios de su facultad y 9 indicaron que no.  De las 20 preguntas del cuestionario, 8 participantes tuvieron entre 20 y 16 respuestas acertadas, 10 participantes tuvieron entre 15 y 11 respuestas acertadas, 4 tuvieron entre 10 y 6 respuestas acertadas y ninguno tuvo menos de 6 respuestas acertadas. (Fuente: DeCS BIREME) ABSTRACTThe objective was to determine the level of knowledge on the management of medical emergencies of dentist surgeons who work in the USS stomatology clinic. A questionnaire of 20 questions on pharmacological management, cardiorespiratory arrest, vasovagal syncope, hypertensive crisis, convulsive syndrome and anaphylaxis was applied to a total of 22 dental surgeons. Of the 22 participants 14 belong to the male gender and 08 to the female gender. 13 indicated that they had taken the elective course of first aid of their faculty and 9 indicated that no. Of the 20 questionnaire questions, 8 participants had between 20 and 16 successful answers, 10 participants had between 15 and 11 correct answers, 4 had between 10 and 6 correct answers and none had less than 6 correct answers.
