Sumario:Down syndrome is a chromosomal abnormality that has an incidence of 1 in 1,000 new born babies, and increases with maternal age. The objective of the research was to evaluate the oral patology in children with Down Syndrome in the Fundación el Triangulo at Quito-Ecuador. A descriptive study was carried out with a cross-sectional design during January-April 2018, in which 55 Down Syndrome and no systemic involvement patients, with an average age of 9.21 years were evaluated. The oral findings where: malocclusions in 51 patients (92.72%), dental caries in 23 patients (41.81%), periodontal disease in 12 patients (21.81%), among other oral clinical findings, enamel hypoplasia was visualized in 2 patients (3.63%), mesiodent in 2 patients (3.63%), 1 case of dental fusion (1.81%) and another case of macrodontia (1.81%). It is concluded that there is a high incidence of malocclusions due to macroglossia and lingual thrust that result in open bite, anterior crossbite and class III development. And also, the presence of dental caries in almost half of the sample studied can be associated with the establishment of inappropriate oral hygiene habits.
