As scopes we have that it was possible to diagnose the factor that causes the low academic level in students, then describe the way in which the active methodological strategy "Teamwork" is applied and in this way analyze the elation ship that exists between the two variables, concluding with demonstrating its effectiveness. This research is characterized by having used the application-type methodology, with a quasi-experimental design of two non-randomized groups. The population consisted of 79 students, obtaining as a result that in section "A" as in "C" a "level of achievement" of 17% was obtained, and in the "process level" a 14% was obtained. in section "A" and 4% in section "C" demonstrating significant efficacy in the two experimental groups. The significant conclusion is that "achievement" was obtained in section "A" of 24% and in "C" of 28% and in section "Process" it was obtained in section "A" of 20% and in the "C" of 7%, which shows a substantial improvement.El estudio tiene como objetivo aplicar la estrategia metodológica activa “Trabajo en equipo” para mejorar el desarrollo de la competencia “resolución de problemas de cantidad” en los estudiantes del Cuarto Grado de Educación Primaria del área de Matemática en la Institución Educativa Emblemática “Simón Bolívar” de Moquegua. Como alcances tenemos que, se logró diagnosticar el factor que ocasiona el bajo nivel académico en los estudiantes, luego describir la forma en que se aplica la estrategia metodológica activa “Trabajo en equipo” y de esta manera analizar la relación que existe entre las dos variables, concluyendo con demostrar su eficacia. Esta investigación se caracteriza por haber empleado la metodología de tipo aplicativo, con diseño cuasi experimental de dos grupos no aleatorizados. La población estuvo conformada por 79 estudiantes, obteniendo como resultado que en la sección “A” como en la “C” se obtuvo un “nivel de logro” de un 17%, y en el “nivel de proceso” se obtuvo un 14% en la sección “A” y un 4% en la sección “C” demostrando la eficacia significativa en los dos grupos experimentales.
