Linux is also a shareware software.La posibilidad de transmitir voz por redes basadas en el protocolo IP, con todas las dificultades que plantea y las oportunidades que ofrece, tales como la integración de voz y datos, es una etapa fundamental de la convergencia del sector de las telecomunicaciones y también refleja la convergencia entre dos tecnologías de redes que han surgido en condiciones de política y reglamentarias muy diferentes. El objetivo de este proyecto es básicamente probar con un software de comunicación, cómo es que redes basadas en IP responden adecuadamente cuando a través de ella se manda voz. La aplicación es implementada sobre el sistema operativo Linux, debido a que Linux es totalmente compatible y de muy buen rendimiento.
