MORFOMETRÍA DE FRUTOS Y SEMILLAS DE Grabowskia boerhaviifolia “PALO NEGRO’’

Grabowskia boerhaviifolia (L. f.) Schltdl. “palo negro’’, es catalogado una especie forestal propia de las dunas de los Bosques Secos del Perú, constituyéndose como soporte para el desarrollo de otras especies vegetales y animales. La intervención humana ha contribuido con su tala indiscriminada, a la disminución acelerada de su población, por lo que para su reforestación son necesarios estudios agronómicos elementales que brinden información sobre el estado productivo de frutos y semillas. Ante la necesidad de un mayor conocimiento se planteó como objetivo determinar la morfometría de frutos y semillas de G. boerhaviifolia “palo negro’’. Para ello se colectaron frutos procedentes del Área del campus de la Universidad Nacional Pedro Ruiz Gallo, en Lambayeque. En laboratorio se evaluó el peso, largo y ancho del fruto, además de calcularse el peso de la semilla. Obtenido los resultados se realizó un análisis estadístico descriptivo. El peso promedio del fruto fue de 0.275±0.020 g, tuvo una longitud promedio de 0.620±0.027 cm y un ancho promedio de 0.713±0.031 cm, además de evidenciar 2 semillas por fruto. Mientras que las semillas tuvieron un peso de 0.019±0.002 g. Se identificó que las variables presentaron una correlación altamente significativa, siendo la variable peso de semilla, la que presentó la mayor variabilidad relativa. Se concluye que G. boerhaviifolia “palo negro’’ evidencia frutos del tipo baya y semillas pequeñas, existiendo además una correlación positiva y alta entre las variables largo y ancho de fruto, lo cual permite diferenciarlo de cualquier otra especie del Bosque Seco del Norte del Perú. Constituyéndose ser información básica preliminar del estado productivo de frutos y semillas. Palabras claves: Morfometría, semilla, Grabowskia, palo negro. ABSTRACT Grabowskia boerhaviifolia (L. f.) Schltdl. “Palo negro’’, is classified as a forest species typical of the dunes of the Dry Forests of Peru, becoming a support for the development of other plant and animal species. Human intervention has contributed with its indiscriminate felling, to the accelerated decline of its population, so that for its reforestation elementary agronomic studies are needed that provide information on the productive state of fruits and seeds. In view of the need for greater knowledge, the objective was to determine the morphometry of fruits and seeds of G. boerhaviifolia "palo negro". For this, fruits were collected from the Campus Area of the National University Pedro Ruiz Gallo, in Lambayeque. The weight, length and width of the fruit were evaluated in the laboratory, in addition to calculating the weight of the seed. The average weight of the fruit was 0.275 ± 0.020 g, have an average length of 0.620 ± 0.027 cm and an average width of 0.713 ± 0.031 cm, in addition to showing 2 seeds per fruit. While the seeds have a weight of 0.019 ± 0.002 g. It was identified that the variables presented a highly significant correlation, being the seed weight variable, which presented the greatest relative variability. It is concluded that G. boerhaviifolia “palo negro” evidences fruits of the berry type and small seeds, there is also a positive and high correlation between the variables length and width of the fruit, which allows it to be differentiated from any other species in the Northern Dry Forest of the Peru.
