In Peru, studies indicate that Candida non-albicans is more frequent in cases of candidemia. The aim was to determine the resistance or susceptibility to certain types of antifungals in Candida spp. species in pregnant women attending a hospital in the province of Jaén. This study was conducted with 40 pregnant women attended in a hospital in the province of Jaén between July and August 2024. Vaginal samples were collected and analyzed to identify Candida spp. species and assess their susceptibility to the antifungals voriconazole and amphotericin B. Three species of Candida were identified: C. albicans (60.00%), C. glabrata (22.50%), and C. krusei (17.50%). Regarding antifungal susceptibility, C. albicans showed complete resistance to voriconazole and higher sensitivity to amphotericin B. C. glabrata exhibited resistance to voriconazole in (55.60%) of cases and to amphotericin B in (11.10%). C. krusei showed resistance to both antifungals. The study confirms the predominance of C. albicans and the significant resistance of C. krusei to antifungals. C. krusei mostró resistencia a ambos antifúngicos.
