The scientific method, development tests and a technical report were used to obtain the results. It was found that the application of PBL had a positive and significant influence on the achievement of the research competencies of the students, who moved from the pre-formal domain level to the resolution domain, and reached the receptive domain level in terms of technological investigative competencies; However, none reached the strategic level. These findings suggest that PBL can be an effective strategy to improve learning and the achievement of research competencies in studentsEl objetivo de este estudio fue determinar la influencia del Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (ABP) como estrategia de aprendizaje en el logro de competencias investigativas de los estudiantes del quinto ciclo de la carrera profesional de Matemática, Computación e Informática de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad Nacional de Huancavelica. Se utilizó el método científico, pruebas de desarrollo y un informe técnico para obtener los resultados. Se encontró que la aplicación del ABP tuvo una influencia positiva y significativa en el logro de las competencias investigativas de los estudiantes, quienes transitaron del nivel de dominio pre formal al dominio resolutivo, y alcanzaron el nivel de dominio receptivo en cuanto a las competencias investigativas tecnológicas; sin embargo, ninguno alcanzó el nivel estratégico.
