This study refers to surveys and research on the use and applications of AI. The results of a survey on AI training topics are shown, which was applied to teachers and university students in Costa Rica. A comparative analysis of the results is made and tables of both groups surveyed are presented. Additionally, basic guidelines are provided to formulate AI content and syllabus within the curriculum of a technology career. Finally, recommendations are given on the technical skills and competencies to be developed.La inteligencia artificial (IA) es el invento más importante de la humanidad. Lo tenemos presente en la sociedad y la economía, pero también ahora impacta en la academia, en la que los docentes y los estudiantes hacen uso de modelos lingüísticos y de interacción como el ChatGPT y otros más. En este estudio se hace referencia a encuestas e investigaciones sobre el uso y las aplicaciones de la IA. Se muestran resultados de una encuesta sobre temas de formación en IA, la cual fue aplicada a docentes y estudiantes universitarios en Costa Rica. Se hace un análisis comparativo de los resultados y se presentan cuadros de ambos grupos encuestados. Adicionalmente, se proveen lineamientos base para formular contenidos y temarios de IA dentro de la currícula de una carrera de tecnología.
