Its capital, Villa Serrano, is the only important nucleus, with about 3,000 inhabitants. The next town, Mendoza, only has a hundred families. The rest of the population is dispersed in about 170 small communities that, in the best of cases, only have 30 families, and in many cases they do not even reach 10.
