The main objective of the study was to develop a dermocosmetic cream enriched with active ingredients coming from hydroalcoholic extract of Chenopodium quinoa Willd. and ethanolic extract of Calendula officinalis Vahl. For that, a phytochemical screening was performed using coloration and precipitation reactions. Then, the cream was prepared and its stability was evaluated by heat shock. Antioxidant activity was determined using DPPH•, ABTS●+, and FRAP methods. The secondary metabolites observed in greatest quantities were polyphenols and glycosides for calendula; and only glycosides for red quinoa. In vitro antioxidant activity using the DPPH• method indicated an IC50 of 27.47 μg/mL, and a TEAC of 92.79 mg Trolox®/g of cream; by the ABTS●+ method, an IC50 of 47.73 μg/mL, and a TEAC of 95.42 mg Trolox®/g of cream; and by the FRAP method, an AAEAC of 6.79 mg Ascorbic acid/g extract. The dermocosmetic cream enriched with red quinoa and calendula extracts demonstrated high antioxidant activity, in addition to complying with stability and extensibility tests. |

The dermocosmetic cream enriched with red quinoa and calendula extracts demonstrated high antioxidant activity, in addition to complying with stability and extensibility tests.La continua exposición de nuestra piel a radiación ultravioleta puede generar afecciones, como eritemas, envejecimiento prematuro hasta cáncer cutáneo, que pueden prevenirse con el uso de productos dermocosméticos con actividad antioxidante. El objetivo principal del estudio fue elaborar una crema dermocosmética antioxidante enriquecida con principios activos de extracto hidroalcohólico de Chenopodium quinoa Willd. y etanólico de Calendula officinalis Vahl. Para ello, se realizó un tamizaje fitoquímico mediante reacciones de coloración y precipitación. Se elaboró la crema y se evaluó su estabilidad mediante shock térmico. La actividad antioxidante se determinó usando los métodos de DPPH• , ABTS●+ y FRAP. Los metabolitos secundarios observados en mayor cantidad fueron polifenoles y glicósidos para caléndula; y solo glicósidos para quinua roja. La actividad antioxidante in vitro por el método DPPH• indicó un IC50 de 27,47 μg/mL, y un TEAC de 92,79 mg Trolox®/g de crema; por el método ABTS●+, un IC50 de 47,73 μg/mL, y un TEAC de 95,42 mg Trolox®/g de crema; y por el método FRAP, un AAEAC de 6,79 mg Ácido ascórbico/g extracto.
