On the other hand, paradoxically, the practice of this work implies certain limits and risks that prevent him from fully understanding the truths of human existence. This image of poet is quiet well exemplified in "El oficio el deseo el maleficio", one of the most representative texts of Una casa en la sombra (1986). En la poesía de López Degregori (Lima, 1952), se configura la imagen de un hablante lírico plenamente consciente de su rol de escritor: por un lado, la poesía es para él un acto de conocimiento que le permite captar la realidad en la que vive; por el otro, paradójicamente, la práctica de este oficio supone ciertos límites y riesgos que le impiden aprehender a plenitud las verdades de la existencia humana.
