Descripción
Sumario:Open innovation, defined as the intentional flow of knowledge between organizations to foster innovation, has become a key strategic option for enhancing firms’ innovation performance worldwide. However, in economies like Peru, which reports low rates of collaboration between stakeholders and weak linkages between organizations to innovate, its implementation faces significant challenges. From the Resource-Based View and the Open Innovation Paradigm, the objective of this thesis is examining the organizational factors that drive open innovation and their impact on innovation performance in Peru. Using a quantitative approach with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS SEM), the study analyzes data from 105 large manufacturing firms with medium and high technological intensity. Two models were evaluated. In the first, knowledge acquired from suppliers and customers mediates the relationship between innovation enablers and outcomes. In the second, mediating occurs through the firm’s openness to external sources of knowledge. The findings confirm that top management support has a direct impact on innovation performance, while the use of digital technologies influences the acquisition of knowledge from external sources. Additionally, knowledge acquired from customers contributes to innovation performance and mediates the relationship between digital technologies and innovation outcomes. Finally, the literature review provided insights into the differences observed between both models.
