Resúmenes4 páginas.Este trabajo forma parte de la actualización de la Carta Geológica Nacional a escala 1:50000 de las hojas 13h y 13i (Rodríguez et al., 2012 y Rodríguez et al., 2014), y se realizó con la finalidad de detallar los procesos de geodinámica interna que dieron lugar a la geomorfología actual. El área de estudio está ubicada entre los departamentos de San Martín y Amazonas (Fig. 1) y forma parte de dos unidades morfoestructurales regionales: La Cordillera Oriental y la Faja Subandina, separadas por la falla Naciente de dirección NO-SE y la falla Quebrada Honda de dirección NE-SO. La Cordillera Oriental abarca 83% del área de estudio, presenta elevaciones entre los 1800 a 3400 msnm. Las fallas y pliegues tienen orientación NO-SE. La litología está constituida por rocas del Triásico al Cretácico en la parte central, y del Cámbrico-Ordovícico hasta el Triásico en la parte suroccidental.
