A continuación, presentamos tres casos de residentes intermitentes de la altitud con COVID-19 atendidos en la ciudad de Huaraz-Perú (3010 msnm), En Perú existe población dedicada a la minería con esquemas de trabajo con ascensos y exposiciones intermitentes a la hipoxia hipobárica que puede agravar la evolución del COVID-19, motivo por lo cual frente a casos similares recomendados contraindicar el ascenso de trabajadores con síntomas respiratorios e indicar el descenso precoz de los que presenten síntomas respiratorio así las pruebas serológicas sean negativas. Planteamos la hipótesis que la hipoxia hipobárica de la altitud agrava la evolución de la enfermedad por el coronavirus.
