Este artículo estudia el Tratado Hipocrático sobre Aires, Aguas y Lugares escrito por Hipócrates. Se analiza la influencia que ejerce el ambiente en la conducta del individuo, donde el médico hipocrático presta atención no solo al cuerpo del enfermo, sino a todo el universo cósmico: tierra, agua, clima, estaciones del año y vientos. Se estudia la visión pronostica de la medicina hipocrática, basada en el conocimiento racional de la enfermedad y la relación entre diagnóstico y pronóstico. Finalmente, se analiza la influencia de la teoría antropológica cuando estudia los patrones culturales de la gente, las formas de pensar y actuar, las costumbres y el carácter del individuo, factor que debe ser tomado en cuenta por el médico hipocrático.
This paper studies the Hippocratic Treaty on Aires, Water and Places written by Hippocrates. The influence exerted by the environment in the individual's behavior, where the Hippocratic medical attention not only to the patient's body, but the entire cosmic universe: earth, water, climate, seasons and winds. We studied the prognostic view of Hippocratic medicine, based on rational knowledge of the disease and the relationship between diagnosis and prognosis. Finally, the treaty study the influence of anthropological theory when studying the cultural patterns of people, ways of thinking and acting, customs and character of the individual, a factor that must be taken into account by the Hippocratic physician.
