A landfill is an infrastructure used for the final disposal of non-recyclable wastes. lt is possible to calculate its usetul lifetime by taking into account three cases; the first one assumes that there is no growth in the population, the second that the population doubles every given number of years and the third that the population grows exponentially. The following article presents all three cases in detail; as well as examples to determine the useful lifetime of the landfill (in years).
El relleno sanitario es una infraestructura destinada a la disposición final de residuos no reciclables. Es posible calcular su vida útil teniendo en cuenta tres casos; el primero supone que no existe crecimiento poblacional, el segundo que la población se duplica cada cierto número de años y el tercero que la población crece exponencialmente. En el presente artículo se presentan detalladamente cada uno de los casos; así como, ejemplos para determinar la vida útil del relleno sanitario (en años).
