The consumption of milk is widespread in the world and extensive information is found on the effect of its consumption on health. This literature review aimed to collect and organize information on the diff erential composition of fatty acids in the milk of various mammals and show their relationship with human health. The method uses protocols and search criteria (PICOS), to obtain the information and perform the analysis. Th e results highlight the variation of the milk composition according to its animal origin, in the percentage of its macrocomponents (proteins, lipids, carbohydrates), microcomponents (minerals, vitamins) and other bioelements, as well as in the composition of these. The lipid macrocomponent provides the largest source of energy, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and fat-soluble vitamins required by breeding during lactation, being very variable according to the ma...

Due to the antioxidant potential of the fruits of the "mito" (Vasconcellea candicans, (A. Gray) A. DC 1864) and the possibility of being used as a natural additive in the food industry, we aim to evaluate the concentration of polyphenols, the antioxidant capacity and the mean inhibitory concentration (IC50) of the pulp of this fruit in two stages of maturity and in two extracts, aqueous and ethanolic at 70% (ethanol 70: water 30). We determined the concentration of total polyphenols, the antioxidant capacity as % of free radical capture and the inhibition coefficient (IC50). Our results indicate that the aqueous extract of the pulp of the fruits of immature myth has the highest concentration of total polyphenols, while the antioxidant capacity was higher in ethanolic extracts, these being higher than those found in papaya. The IC50 was higher in the mature ethanolic extract of mito vs. p...

Nuestros resultados...

Wet rot affects organic banana crops in the northern tropical region of Peru. Several bacteria have been reported to cause wet rot on different crops, leading to severe problems, particularly in humid climates. Bacteria infect the banana pseudostem through wounds caused during plant pruning and insect bites. Knowledge about bacteria identification that causes wet rot may provide a valuable tool for controlling this issue. The present study explored the primary bacterial component of banana pseudostem wet rot samples at three localities in the Sullana province of Piura, using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. A total of one hundred and thirty-six sequence data were obtained from the three Sullana localities: forty sequences of bacterial isolates from the Querecotillo locality sample, forty-eight from Mambre, and Salitral each. The genus Klebsiella of the Enterobacteriaceae family was identified a...
