Las Shicras archaeological zone is located 12 kilometers from the city of Huaral (Lima region), in a strategic area with a large occupational sequence from the Final Archaic Period to the Late Horizon. Las Shicras is composed by two monumental mounds joined by a central space, corresponding to the Final Archaic Period (2850-1900 b.C.), later remodeled and occupied by the Chancay society (1400-1520 AD). During the 2011-2013 excavation seasons, eight individuals (buried in the constructive fill of the Late Chancay remodeling of the southern mound - Sector A) were recovered. Likewise, another 10 individuals were found in the lower part of the monumental buildings (Sector C), corresponding to the Chancay-Inca residential-administrative units. The contextual and osteological analyzes indicate at least two events of violent death in Las Shicras: a) Burial of 10 people placed inside the constru...

A burial context, excavated in 1982 at Armatambo, provides the basis for describing the Ychsma textile style during the Late Horizon. The textile data (types of garments, images, design lay-out, fibers, fabric structures, yarn spin, colors, etc.) are extensive enough to distinguish many types of Ychsma-style garments from those of other styles, and to identify similar textiles in museum collections. The provenience information on Ychsma textiles from museum collections suggests the extent of the Ychsma sphere of interaction on the Central Coast.

In this article we present some thoughts on the organization of the landscape around the ceremonial center Formative of Pacopampa (Ca. 1300-900 BC). Based on the analysis of a series of alignments of the architecture of Pacopampa and their relationship with landscape elements (visual axis), we propose that the sunken plaza square of the third platform was built during Pacopampa II (Ca. 900-500 BC) , and that this square was related to the observation of the output of the constellation of the Pleiades (visual axis 1). There is a gap in this axis that is called Black Lagoon. This observation also determined the orientation of other structures on the site: Place square of the second platform, and the mound La Laguna. The visual axis 1 is related to another alignment (visual axis 2) that crosses the center of the square frame of the third platform, and links the top of mound El Mirador to th...
