This study had the objective to analyze the mental processes in terms of the thinking abilities and the cognitive functions as well as some levels of text processing that distinguish (differentiate) good and poor reader students from High School. The analysis was based on the theories: The Structural Cognitive Modifiability of Reuven Feuerstein and the Text Processing of W. Kintsch and T.A Van Dick. The cognitive demands of solution from each one of the questions of a standardized reading test were analyzed as mentioned before. The following cognitive processes were identified and organized: Classification, Analysis-Synthesis, Logic inference and Hypothetical reasoning.

The aim of this study was to determine the concentration of glucose, total proteins, albumin, cholesterol and triglycerides in the follicular fluid during the three stages of follicular development in alpacas. Twenty-seven animals from CIP Chuquibambilla, National University of the Altiplano, Puno, Peru were used. The alpaca ovaries were checked by an Aloka SSD 500 ultrasound and a 7.5 MHz linear transducer. The animals were subjected to a follicular wave synchronization procedure in the presence of a follicle >7 mm. On day 9 of the synchronization the animals were distributed according to the stage of the follicular wave in three groups: G1, follicle >7 mm in the growing stage; G2, follicle >7 mm in the static stage; G3, follicle >7 mm in the regression stage. This paper presents the results of a research study focussing on psychometric testing aimed to evaluate quantitative and qualitative basic cognitive and superior thinking processes during reading comprehension. The cognitive and psycholinguistic domains through reading comprehension were taken in account, based on the theories the Cognitive Structure Modifiability of Reuven Feuerstein, complemented by the process theory of Margarita Sánchez; and the Textual Psycholingüistic processing of T.A Van Dijk y W. Kinysch. The selected samples were taken from male and female students of fourth and fifth grades of High School and freshmen at University level, belonging to public and private institutions. Potato is an important food and cash crop in Perú. Its production is limited due to seed quality, and other biotic and abiotic factors. Here we explore a new alternative for potato pre-basic seed production named temporary immersion bioreactor (TIB). Potato microtubers production using TIB comprises two phases: multiplication and microtuberization. During the multiplication phase, we used 50 segments of four nodes from a semi-solid medium with an immersion and frequency time of five minutes and three hours, respectively. In addition, a photoperiod of 16 hours of light and eight hours of darkness during 28 days were employed. For the microtuberization phase and under darkness conditions during 60 days, we used 80 g/l of sucrose and 30 ml/explant as a volume for the medium. The potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is important as both a food and a source of economic activity in Peru. However, potato production is limited by seed quality and other biotic and abiotic factors. We explore a new alternative method for producing prebasic seeds of Peruvian potato varieties known as temporary immersion bioreactors (BIT). The process of producing potato microtubers using BIT consists of two phases: proliferation and microtuberization. During the proliferation phase, we seeded six nodal segments of three nodes in a liquid culture medium with 30 g of sucrose under a photoperiod of 16 light hours and eight dark hours. This phase also included an irrigation cycle of five minutes every three hours for 30 days. Kañihua (Chenopodium pallidicaule Aellen, Chenopodiaceae) is a native plant from the highlands of Peru and Bolivia that is characterized by its high nutritional value. It is considered a species of great genetic diversity and in this study we evaluated the nutritional characteristics, fatty acids profile, antioxidant compounds and antioxidant activities of three kañihua ecotypes from Peru named “Chilliwa” (light grey seeds), “Planta púrpura” (light orange seeds) and “Red kañiwa Condorsaya” (red seeds).

The study aimed to characterize the follicular emergence and determine the repeatability of the follicular wave in alpacas. For this, 34 female alpacas were selected and induced to ovulation by parenteral application of buserelin acetate (day 0). Two days after the hormonal stimulation, individual follicular development was recorded by counting the total number of antral follicles >3 mm in both ovaries. For this, an inter-daily transrectal ultrasound follow-up was done for 60 days. It was determined that the emergence of the follicular wave occurred on day 4.5 ± 1.4 (range 2-8). The number of antral follicles (NAF) >3 mm during three consecutive follicular emergencies was 2.8 ± 1.3 (range 1-8). El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo caracterizar la emergencia folicular y determinar la repetibilidad de la onda folicular en alpacas. Para ello, 34 hembras alpacas fueron seleccionadas e inducidas a ovulación mediante la aplicación parenteral de acetato de buserelina (día 0). Dos días después del estímulo hormonal, se registró el desarrollo folicular individual a partir del conteo del número total de folículos antrales >3 mm en ambos ovarios. Para esto, se hizo un seguimiento ecográfico transrectal inter diario por 60 días. Se determinó que la emergencia de la onda folicular se produjo el día 4.5 ± 1.4 (rango 2-8). El número de folículos antrales (NFA) >3 mm durante tres emergencias foliculares consecutivas fue de 2.8 ± 1.3 (rango 1-8).
