The spatial distribution of seismicity and tectonics in the central region of Peru is analyzed using information contained in the Seismic Catalog of the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP), period 2015-2022 (M ≥4.5), to propose a 3D geometry for the Nazca plate within the subduction process. The results show that, in the central region, the Nazca plate subducts with an approximate angle of 28°- 30° up to a depth of 120 km to then continue in a subhorizontal manner up to the distance of 700 km. Near the city of Pucallpa, the Nazca plate develops a resubduction process with an approximate angle of 28° to a depth of 200 km. The distribution of the stress axes P and T show the process of plate convergence in front of the coastal zone and the internal deformation of the Nazca plate below the continent. At the height of the city of Pucallpa, the increase of seismicity of intermediate focu...

The research analyzes the natural phenomenon El Niño, in the context of Change Climate, which increasingly affects both the physical environment as natural and to a greater extent to poorly developed societies such as This is the case of the Peruvian one. It is undeniable that the consequences are even more impactful in this environment due to the lack of contingency plans, the scarcity of resourcesto replace infrastructure and equipment affected and fundamentally due to informality. The overall objective of the research is: Determine the impact of El Niño Costero 2017 on the Piura region. Methodology: the study is of an applied type, exploratory level, non-experimental design, qualitative and quantitative approach; were analyzed statistical instruments from institutions such as the INEI, CENEPRED, among others, at the same time, documentary observation and observation of the phenomena...

The impacts of the El Niño and La Niña phenomena are analyzed in the context of Climate Change in the upper basin of the Piura River, on the infrastructure and equipment for education, health, basic services, roads and residential, in the district of Canchaque, which was one of the most affected in that region. The type of research is applied, the level is explanatory and the approach is mixed, triangulating qualitative and quantitative methods. The results show that the intense rains associated with El Niño and the prolonged droughts of La Niña considerably affect all services and equipment, in turn aggravating the problems of water scarcity, affecting both agricultural production and the water resources available for human and livestock consumption. Finally, it is concluded that the upper basin of the Piura River, as a whole and Canchaque in particular, present risks and dangers; t...
