Of the 17.326 patients with cervical cancer registered in the INEN between 1952 and 1979, 403 were 76 years or older at diagnosis (2.3%). The average age in this group was 80.6 years and older was 99 years. The first sex was at 19 and the average latency period 61 years, in contrast to 16 and seven years for the group of 123 patients under 25 years. The distribution showed predominance of clinical stay in the añosas advanced disease, although the parametrial involvement (comparison between stays A and B) was significantly lower (p <0.001) than in young, possibly due to anatomical changes involution. Squamous cell carcinoma was the predominant type and significantly more frequent (98%) in those over 76, with lower incidence of adenocarcinoma and mucoepidermoid carcinoma. The linioplasmocitario cervical stromal infiltrate was more frequent in younger patients, in which an inverse relation...

Bone sarcoma are infrequent diseases, representing < 0.2% of all adult neoplasms. A multidisciplinary management within reference centers for sarcoma, with discussion of the diagnostic and therapeutic strategies within an expert multidisciplinary tumour board, is essential for these patients, given its heterogeneity and low frequency. This approach leads to an improvement in patient's outcome, as demonstrated in several studies. The Sarcoma European Latin-American Network (SELNET), aims to improve clinical outcome in sarcoma care, with a special focus in Latin-American countries. These Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) have been developed and agreed by a multidisciplinary expert group (including medical and radiation oncologist, surgical oncologist, orthopaedic surgeons, radiologist, pathologist, molecular biologist and representatives of patients advocacy groups) of the SELNET consorti...

Soft tissue sarcoma (STS) and gastrointestinal tumors (GIST) encompass > 80 different histologic subtypes. Clinical practice guidelines for STS and GIST still lack in Latin-American countries. Tailored clinical guidelines are instrumental to improve outcome in sarcoma patients in LatinAmerican countries. This is the first review establishing STS and GIST guidelines for the purpose of LatinAmerican clinical practices to our knowledge.
