Objective: To analyze the anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive activity of metformin in an acute event of inflammation-edema and pain induction in rodents. Materials and methods: One hundred ninety-eight (198) female mice were used. The anti-inflammatory effect was evaluated in 64 mice using the carrageenan-induced paw edema test, and the antinociceptive effect was assessed in 64 and 70 mice using the hot plate test and the tail immersion test, respectively. In both cases, there were control, placebo and experimental groups. For the analysis, the Shapiro-Wilk test, one-way ANOVA test, Tukey test and Pearsonian coefficient of correlation were used. Objective: To describe the characteristics of the use of a preventive app by the Peruvian population during its first year of operations between 2019 and 2020. Materials and methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study, in which the database of the Salud Total preventive app, concerning the demographic characteristics of and usage by the Peruvian population, was reviewed during its first year of operations. Sociodemographic variables (sex and age) and usage (health data, pathological findings, frequency of use, and type and number of services requested) were analyzed. OBJETIVO: Conocer la actividad antiinflamatoria y analgésica de la Metformina en un evento agudo de inflamación y dolor inducido en roedor. MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: Estudio de tipo experimental, preclínico, doble ciego, ramdomizado, prospectivo de enfoque cuantitativo. Se utilizaron 124 ratones albinos hembras. Se evaluó el efecto sobre la inflamación por medio de la prueba de edema plantar inducido por Carragenina, en 64 ratones, divididos en 3 grupos control con diclofenaco, agua destilada y no recibe nada y 5 grupos experimentales con metformina a dosis de 50, 100, 150, 200 y 250 mg/Kg respectivamente. Objective: To describe the socioeconomic characteristics of, the most frequent pathologies and symptoms of, and the subjective pain assessment by patients treated at a physical therapy and rehabilitation center located in the district of Villa El Salvador, Lima, Peru.Materials and methods: A descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional study conducted in 366 patients over 18 years of age, of both sexes, who attended their first physical therapy. Results: The patients reported moderate pain intensity in the pre-physical therapy and rehabilitation sessions assessment. La medición de los niveles de hemoglobina glicada (HbA1c) es el método de laboratorio más utilizado en el seguimiento y monitorización de la glucemia media estimada de los últimos 3 a 4 meses. El objetivo de la investigación es determinar el nivel de correlación entre hemoglobina glicosilada y glucemia basal en pacientes diabéticos en un centro médico de Lima, Perú. Estudio descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal de una población de 172 pacientes con edad igual o mayor de 39 años diagnosticados y en tratamiento por diabetes mellitus (DM), se encontró que existe una correlación moderada y positiva de 0,50. Se concluye que los niveles de hemoglobina glicada están moderamente relacionados con los niveles de glucosa basal por lo que se recomienda valorar ambos exámenes de laboratorio por separado y en el contexto individualizado de cada paciente.

Helicobacter pylori infection has a high prevalence in Peru and in the world and is highly associated with gastrointestinal ulcer and gastric cancer. The objective of this research is to determine the prevalence of Helicobacter Pylori in an urban population that attends a medical consultation for the first time due to gastrointestinal symptoms. Descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional study carried out in a population of both sexes and all ages in the district of Villa el Salvador. A 74.3% prevalence of H. Pylori is considered, with a higher prevalence in the intermediate adult and older adult age groups (75%). Likewise, there was a greater attendance to medical consultation on the part of the female sex (n = 208). It is concluded that there is a high prevalence of Helicobacter Pylori infection in patients with gastrointestinal symptoms.

Objective. To determine if there is a correlation between basal glucose levels and cholesterol and triglyceride levels in asymptomatic patients or with non-specific complaints who attend a consultation for routine evaluations. Materials and methods. Correlational analytical cross-sectional study. The variables were cholesterol, triglyceride and glucose levels. Information was collected from 637 patients over 18 years of age in a polyclinic in the district of Villa el Salvador from January to July of the year 2021, in the statistical analysis the SPSS 21 program was used, for the correlation study the Spearman coefficient was used with a significance level of 0.01.
