Objective: To analyze the impact of the capital on the health of pregnant women and children under 5 years ofage affiliated to comprehensive health insurance in 3 pilot regions between 2011 and 2014. Methods: Study ofcounterfactual analysis of difference in differences. The pilot regions are Apurímac, Ayacucho and Huancavelica, while Amazonas, Cajamarca and Huánuco are controls. Indicators of acute diarrheal disease, acute respiratoryinfection and anemia in children, and of maternal death avoided in pregnant women were measured, andproduction indicators that include coverage of control of growth and development of the child and prenatalcontrol. Results: A negative impact was observed in acute diarrheal disease (-330) and maternal death prevented(-213), and positive in acute respiratory infections (1540), anemia (736) and the child's control and developmentrates and prenatal control - co...

Methods: We compared the gap between the National Death System (SINADEF) with the oficial reported deaths from COVID -19 from march 1st to may 31th, 2020; Violent deaths (homicide, suicide, traffic accident; other accidents and unknown deaths) were excluded. To estimate the deaths baseline was used a seasonal linear regression, from January 1st, 2017 to December 31th, 2019 with a 95% confidence intervals. The deaths reported in the National Death System was compared with the baseline deaths. The excess of deaths reported was estimated by “Simple Difference method”. Results: The research outcomes showed that the excess of total deaths, from 1st March to 31th may, 2020 is 2.24 times greater than the oficial number of deaths reported by COVID-19. Conclusions: The finded differences may be associated directly with a unregistered deaths by COVID-19 and another general death ca...

Introduction: The pandemic that has been developing at a global level has tested not only the differenthealth systems of the world, but also the economic models and governments in each of the countries. Objective: To compare the non-pharmacological interventions of early application in the displacementand the amplitude of the daily mortality curve per million; as well as calculating the accumulatedmortality rates and the number of deaths avoided by CORONAVIRUS SARS-Cov2 between Peru and theUnited States. Methods: The daily mortality rate per million from the first registration, the maximumpeak and the amplitude of said rate were evaluated, as well as the accumulated rate for both countrieswas calculated and evaluated under the difference in differences method, to estimate the death rateavoided per million. Results: Mortality per million in Peru was 0.061 and in the United States 0.069.The...

Objectives: To describe the behavior and trends of medical care for Colorectal Cancer (CRC) during the period 2018-2023 in the Peruvian health system. Materials and Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted to analyze the behavior of CRC care in Peru. The open database of the National Superintendence of Health (SUSALUD) was used. The variables included: CIE-X diagnosis compatible with CRC; age groups, sex, place, and period of care. Microsoft Excel 365 and STATA v.18.0 were used for statistical analysis. Results: The rate of outpatient care for CRC was 10.89 per 10 000 outpatient attendances for all causes (range: 8.01 – 13.61); of attendances for CCR: 68.54% for colon cancer; 29.7% for rectal cancer; and 1.76% for cancer of the rectosigmoid junction. The rate of care in emergency services was 3.15 per 10 000 emergency visits for all causes (range: 1.86 – 4.35), whil...

Objectives: To evaluate the level of knowledge and practices in health workers of a Public Hospital III-1on policies and strategies for the reduction of mercury added in thermometers and tensiometers. Methods: Two approaches were used. The first used a database with surveys applied to focus groups and interviews to evaluate policies and practices. The second approach, I use the inventory technique through Direct observation of medical material with mercury. Results: 95% of the respondents report that they aree xposed to materials with mercury. Only 10% know to whom the final disposition is delivered when they are cleaned the spills. This same percentage does not know about the existence of the mercury cleaning kit. Also, with Chi square test x2 (p: 0.02) was determined that there is an association between the low level of knowledge in the existence of a mercury c...
