Objective: To identify the reasons why graduates chose Nutrition as their professional career. Design: Quali-quantitative and exploratory research. Setting: Professional Academic School of Nutrition of San Marcos National Major University. Participants: Nutrition graduates. Interventions: After informed consents, two focus groups with 7 participants each, two in-depth interviews and a questionnaire to 34 former students were provided. Main outcome measures: Reasons why they chose, continued and finished their Nutrition studies. Results: In summary 73% of the participants were women, average age was 22,4 years, 30 students answered the questionnaire. They chose Nutrition because somebody personally told them about the career (30%), they learned of it at the pre-college academy (23%), possible transfer to another career (20%), and lower score required for admission (17%). Introduction: Media have influence on the behavior of adolescents, and their messages can be enhancers or harmful to their health. Objectives: To determine the association of perceived media influence on healthy eating and belonging to Promoting Schools for Sustainable Development in adolescents. Desing: Descriptive, transversal and cross-association study. Location: Educational Institutions in Puente Piedra district. Participants: Male and female adolescents. Interventions: Three hundred and thirty adolescents chosen for convenience were divided equally whether they belonged or not to the program. Introduction: Iron deficiency anemia is a public health problem. The low dietary intake of iron is one of its causes. Objective: To determine the dietary iron intake in adolescent women. Design: Descriptive, cross type study. Setting: Educational Institutions in the district of Ancon, Lima. Participants: Three hundred and fifty-five adolescent high school female students in Ancon chosen at random. Interventions: Previous informed consent, a semi-quantitative food and beverage frequency questionnaire was given. Main outcome measures: Daily dietary iron intake. Results: Adolescents average age was 14 ± 1,69 years. The median dietary iron intake was 10,4 mg (quartile 1 = 9 mg / day, quartile 3 = 12,1 mg / day), and the median adequacy, 38,4% (quartile 1 = 33,45%; quartile 3 = 45,56%); 86,8% of all adolescents did not satisfy even 50% of their recommended daily iron intake. Objetivos: Validar una guía electrónica interactiva (GEI) de modelos de porciones de frutas y verduras (FV), en adolescentes. Diseño: Estudio descriptivo de validación de prueba diagnóstica. Institución: Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Participantes: Nutricionistas, adolescentes. Intervenciones: Entrevista en 31 adolescentes varones y mujeres, de 10 a 12 años de edad, en dos Instituciones Educativas de Callao y San Juan de Lurigancho, respectivamente.
