The main objective of this study was the rare earth mineralogical characterization of samples from mineral deposits in central Peru. To determine the mineralogical composition, the light microscopy technique was used by means of a reflected light polarization microscope and for the analysis of the rare earth bearing minerals, the mass spectrometry method (ICP-MS) technique, which is used for the study of materials loose or rare earths. The microscopic analysis of the samples from the mineral deposits of Milpo (Pilar Mine), Chungar and Mina Raúl determined the mineralogical composition made up of mineral species, such as pyrite, sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, marcasite, magnetite, pyrrhotite, goethite, tetrahedrite, bornita, covelita and bargains. The study of the samples applying the ICP MS technique confirmed the presence of rare earth elements such as cerium (ce), dysprosium (...

This work presents the petrographic analysis of the sandstones belonging to the Cushabatay Formation (Lower Cretaceous) in the Tangarana1 well, in the Marañón Basin (Loreto, Peru), which was carried out using optical microscopy and electron microprobe techniques for the measurement of detailed petrographic and textural characteristics to determine its reservoir rock conditions. The petrographic results correspond to quartz-sandstone type sandstones, with a high percentage of quartz (> 95%) and a low percentage of feldspars and rock fragments, with a grain size from medium to coarse, with a degree of roundness from sub-rounded to sub-angular and moderate selection, clay matrix and clay cements, calcite, siderite, anhydrite, and iron oxides. The porosity values in the Cushabatay sandstones vary from 7% to 14%, observing a good correspondence between the values measured in ...

The need to develop and know methods for metallurgical treatment to process gold-bearing refractory minerals or hard to treat be- cause of carbon contents, tellurium, antimony, arsenic, carbonates and gold in solution solid sulfides, forces us to study the different methods of specific oxidation that should be applied in each mineral before to leach ore to reach high recoveries into precious metals Through Gravimetrically followed by cyanidation is obtained 94.74% of gold extract in the studied mineral.
