Adolescent criminal behavior is a problem that can be approached from different angles.  One of the most relevant is its association with symptoms of mental disorders.  Therefore, adequate and timely detection of clinical features is imperative.  In this context, self-report instruments are frequently used, even though their use has not been systematized. The present study reviews empirical articles where clinical characteristics of adolescents in conflict with the law have been evaluated with self-report instruments. Four databases (Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed and SciElo) with articles published between 2015 and 2021 and written in English, Portuguese and Spanish were reviewed.  The final selection was 30 articles.  The review highlights the use of the Youth Self Report to assess various clinical symptoms, in addition to the Youth Psychopathic Trait Inventory and the Inventory o...

In this article, an analysis of the criminal behavior is made, relating these to the most current criminological theories. It describes its psychological aspects and its influence in the development of criminal behavior, individual or grupal. It then shows how research supports these theoretical formulations. It is advisable to use qualitative research to generate contextual explanations. About this, narrative designs are emphasized, because they allow criminals to reflect on their own lives through their own words, and for researcher, a genuine social, ethical and political personal commitment.

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the Collett-Lester Fear of Death Scale (CL-FODS) at psychometric properties. 448 university students participated [H: 174, M: 274, DE: 3.0, ME: 23.27]. In the confirmatory factor analysis, better values were found in the bifactor model (χ²/gl = 2.54, CFI = .91, TLI = .90, SRMR = .051, RMSEA = .06, AIC = 33467.22, PUC =.78, ECV = .77, Omega H = .91). Likewise, it was found that the Scale presents a medium effect on convergent validity with Fear of Covid19 (r=.49). Besides, reliability was obtained in the general scale (ω=.96) and by dimensions (MPM ω=.87; MPPM ω=.91; MMO ω=.90; MPMO ω=.92). Subsequently, it was corroborated through measurement invariance that the construct does not show differences according to sex and age. Finally, it was concluded that the LC - FODS has good psychometric properties.

The purpose of this research was to determine the psychometric properties of the ADCA 1 assertiveness scale, the type of research is instrumental; we worked with a sample of 730 individuals between the ages of 13 and 16. It was considered a non-probabilistic sample by trials. The results indicate that the Self-Assertiveness scale in its original proposal does not present evidence of construct validity (X2 / gl = 2,648; GFI = 0.883; CFI = 0.807; RMSEA = 0.048 and SRMR = 0.0532); After analyzing the items, an exploratory analysis with an oblique rotation is sought, obtaining 5 factors that explain 43,602% of the construct. The adjustment index of the 5-factor proposal presents evidence of construct validity (X2 / gl = 2,225; GFI = 0.936; CFI = 0.900; RMSEA = 0.041; SRMR = 0.0463), a general level the scale with 25 items presents a αordinal = 0.902 and u Ω = 0.902. In conclusion, the 25-i...

Objective: To assess the internal structure, measurement invariance, criterion validity and reliability of the CASM-85 in Peruvian high school students. Materials and methods: Two thousand seventy-five (2075) students of both sexes, aged 11 to 18 years, from public and private high schools of Arequipa, Chimbote, Lima and Pucallpa were evaluated. An item-item and item-rest correlation analysis for each dimension of the CASM- 85, a confirmatory factorial analysis and MIMIC (Multiple Indicator, Multiple Cause) models were used to evaluate the measurement invariance across the groups according to their sex, age, school and city. Reliability was estimated using alpha and omega coefficients. The criterion validity between the CASM-85 and academic performance was determined using Pearson’s r and regression models. Results: The heterogeneous items were removed, obtaining a 45-item short form c...
