Mercury (Hg) is a toxic heavy metal that causes damage to the central nervous system, alters human behavior, and has an impact on aquatic biota. The aim of this study was to evaluate the bioaccumulation by Hg in fish and the risk for ingestion in an indigenous community (IC) in the Peruvian Amazonia during the dry and rainy season. The community Santa Rosa de Tamaya y Tipishca is located in the lower basin of the Abujao River. The study was carried out with 119 inhabitants grouped into 22 families, with average ages of 9 and 38 years for children and adults, respectively. The fish were collected using mainly trawl nets and were identified following the standard taxonomic morphological procedure. The Hg content in fish muscle was done using atomic fluorescence spectrometry. The results show that the four most consumed fish species by the NC were Pterygoplichthys pardalis (Castelnau, 1855)...

The microplastics (PM) present in five fish species of economic importance in Peru were evaluated: Sciaena deliciosa (Tschudi, 1846) (Sciaenidae) “Lorna drum”, Isacia conceptionis (Cuvier, 1830) (Haemulidae) “Cabinza grunt”, Scartichthys gigas (Steindachner, 1876) (Blenniidae) "Giant blenny", Mugil cephalus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Mugilidae) "flathead grey mullet" and Scomber japonicus (Houttuyn, 1782) (Scombridae) "Chub mackerel". The stomach and gill contents of each fish were digested with 10% KOH, followed by a filtration process to search for PM. The MPs were classified by color and by shape. The contamination by PM found in the digestive tract of S. gigas presented higher values than those found in the other four species. No differences were observed in the amount of MP recorded in the gills between species. A positive correlation was only observed between the body length of I. c...

The aim of this study was to characterize the microplastics (MP) in the hairy crab Romaleon setosum (Molina, 1782) (Cancridae), a species of importance for human consumption. In total, 15 individuals of R. setosum acquired between December 2020 and January 2021 at the Ventanilla Fisheries Wholesale Market, Callao, Peru were evaluated. The muscle, gill and digestive tract of each crab was digested with 10% KOH, followed by a filtration process to search for MP. All individuals presented MP in muscle, gills and digestive tract. Blue MP fibres were most abundant in muscle, blue and red fibres in the gill, and black and blue in the digestive tract. In the case of film-type PM, white was the dominant colour in the muscle and digestive tract, while green was observed in the gills. For the fragments, the blue colour was the most abundant in the gill and in the digestive tract, not being observe...

One of the computer applications used internationally is the interactive platform Moodle for being open source and free distribution. The research presented aims to focus on the problem of rejection by Physics in 1st year students of the Regular Day Course of the Bachelor of Education-Biology career, at the Faculty of Secondary Education of the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas, Cuba, which is why the forums were used from the virtual learning environment, developed on the Moodle platform in the subject "Physics Topics" during the academic years 2017-2020, in support of the teaching-learning process of the subject in the face-to-face mode. In the research carried out, various theoretical and empirical methods were used. To collect the information, participant observation, analysis of testimonies, discussion and refl ection groups, evaluation records, in-depth interviews, and...
