Microorganisms living under stress conditions, such as acidophilic environments, usually respond by synthesizing compounds with important biological activities. The cytotoxic and antibacterial activities against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) of ten strains of Streptomyces isolated from mineral ores of Peru were evaluated. Streptomyces variabilis F and S. variabilis X were more active than vancomycin against MSRA (MIC= 0.5, 0.5 and 1.0 µg/mL, respectively). Streptomyces sp. 6c, S. albidoflavus Ya4, S. champavatii Frep13 and Streptomyces sp. F1 showed selective cytotoxic activity against human adenocarcinoma of the duodenum (HuTu80) and human lung large cell carcinoma (H460). The extracts of Streptomyces sp. Five strains of Kluyveromyces marxianus a one of Gandida pseudotropicalis were cultured in medium M-1 for productión of 13- galactosidasa (E.C : 3:2:1:23). The strain Kluyveromyces mandanus NRRL- Y - 1109 was selecteed for the best production of enzyme and the maxímum yield of enzyme was obtaíned on 5% of lactose supplemented with 0.5% yeast extract , 0.75% (NH4)2 S04 y 0.45% K2HP04 (w/v). lt obtained a yield of 5.43 U/mg of protein and 1.31 A.UoNPcl mg of dry weight. The extraction of the enzyme from viable cells was performed by toluene 2% (v/v), during 15 hours of treatment at 30°C, in 0.1 M potassium phosphate buffer, pH 7.0 ± 0.1, supplemented with 1 mM magnesium and 0.1 mM manganese sulfate . In this work we present the design of a Process for the treatment of the urban salid wastes (USW) produced in the northern part of Lima. The plant will be installed in the district of Puente Piedra, region of Lima. The treatment capacily is of 1500 TM/day and ethanol, methane and diesel 2 has been produced of added value, also a higher reduction is achieved to 80% in volume of USW destination at present to the final disposition in the sanitarias fillings fields of Zapallal and The Vizcacha. The impact of the implementation ol this process will be positive so much in the technological, economic and environmental aspects.

En este trabajo se propone un proceso para el tratamiento de los residuos sólidos urbanos (RSU) generados en el cono norte de Lima. La planta se instalará en el distrito de Puente Piedra, región de Lima. La capacidad de tratamiento es de 1500 TM/dia y se produce etanol, metano y diesel 2 como productos de valor agregado, asimismo se logra una reducción superior al 80% en volumen de RSU destinados actualmente a la disposición final en los rellenos sanitarios de Zapallal y La Vizcacha. El impacto de la implementación de este proceso será positivo tanto en los aspectos tecnológico, económico y ambiental.
