This article examines the problem of production line delays in a textile small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) that produces polyester fibre from recycled bottles, based on orders. Factors that have resulted in production line delays include prolonged unscheduled maintenance time, and preparations and adjustments prior to operating the equipment. To address the problem, a model was developed applying lean manufacturing tools through change management, with the aim of increasing equipment availability and useful life. To validate the model, a pilot was developed to determine how the increase in equipment availability helps reduce delays in the production line, which eventually improves completion of customer orders.

En la evolución de las telecomunicaciones en Venezuela se ha experimentado una serie de cambios que han repercutido en la concepción misma de estos servicios, llegándose a discutir el propio contenido de éstos. En el presente artículo, el autor expone cómo se fueron dando estos cambios en el sector mencionado y cuáles fueron las principales razones que contribuyeron acrear el actual modelo regulatorio de las telecomunicaciones en Venezuela.

In 2024, the United States Supreme Court overturned a landmark precedent, Chevron, which was initially adopted in 1984. Chevron had been the general doctrine used to define the scope of judicial review over regulatory agencies, based on deferential control over vague concepts established in statutes. However, in Loper Bright, the Court concluded that this deferential control was incompatible with judicial review. It is important to note that the Court did not challenge the constitutionality of the modern administrative state. The Supreme Court also acknowledged that courts should adopt a deferential review when a statute grants discretionary powers. Despite this, the Court ratified that agencies can only adopt regulations with vast economic and social impact upon express delegation of the statute. La maca crece en los departamentos alto andinos, de la Cordillera de los Andes del Perú, entre 3500 y 4700 m.s.n.m.Objetivos: Evaluar el efecto antioxidante de las hojas de Lepidium peruvianum Chacon, “Maca”.Materiales y Método: Se utilizaron hojas de maca, molidas, de la zona de Junín, a partir de las cuales se prepararon, por maceración, 3 extractos : 1) en éter etílico (EEE), 2) en agua destilada (EAD) y 3) en alcohol etílico (EAE) . Background: Primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS) is an autoimmune disease that leads to salivary and lacrimal gland dysfunction. The adaptive immune response associated with T helper-2 lymphocytes appears to be altered in these patients. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the salivary levels of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-5, and IL-4 in patients with pSS when compared to a healthy control (HC) group. The secondary objectives were to study whether ILs levels in pSS patients were associated with salivary flow, patient-reported outcomes (PROMs) for xerostomia and oral health quality of life (Oral Health Impact Profile-14 [OHIP-14]), pSS classification criteria and presence of extraglandular manifestations.
