Antibiotics are used in cryopreservation of stallion semen in order to control the growth of microorganisms; however they can have negative effects on the spermatozoa. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of two antibiotic preparations on microbial growth and quality of cryopreserved stallion semen. Semen from 10 Colombian Creole horses was cryopreserved by conventional freezing with two antibiotic preparations: P1 (penicillin 10000 UI/ml and streptomycin 10 mg/ml) and P2 (penicillin 10000 UI/ml, streptomycin 10 mg/ml, and amphotericin B 25 μg/ml) and a control group without antibiotics. The case of a 6 -year -old female Golden Retriever is presented. She was limping in the left posterior limb. A 4/4 grade lameness, pain by palpating the knee, and a negative drawer test, but positive tibial compression was identified. No proprioceptive deficit or signs compatible with lesions joints in X-rays images were found. There was no response to treatment with Meloxicam and Tramadol and because a suspicion of partial rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament, the transposition of tibial tuberosity (TTT) procedure was chosen. The patient returned with lameness in the right hind limb right nine months later and after ruling out other causes of limp, the TTT was successfully performed in the affected limb. In this paper the author intends to give an overview of the European immigration In Peru aiming for a first balance of the studies about the subject. Starting from a review of the most important censal sources of the XIX and XX centuries, he tries to answer the following questions about immigrants: which were their insertion strategies in the Peruvian society? To which type of economic activities were dedicated those who decided to stay in the country? The author's analysis concludes, among other things, that the European immigrants in Peru were not an homogenous group and besides, that the majority of them carne on their own initiative in spite of the favorable immigration policies issued by the different republican governments.

Este ensayo presenta las reflexiones surgidas a partir de un estudio realizado sobre la figura de Antonio Raimondi, donde se ha constatado la falsedad de la frase “El Perú es un mendigo sentado en un banco de oro”. Las reflexiones que surgieron a raíz de ese hallazgo han motivado una serie de consideraciones que han derivado en el uso del concepto de “paradigma mental”, en cuanto recurso teórico que puede explicar comportamientos sociales difundidos. El propósito del ensayo es compartir ideas y motivar la discusión.

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of changes in prices on food consumption of rural producers in Junin (Peru) in order to verify if there are some differences in food security between farmers who produce quinoa and those who do not. For this purpose, surveys were applied to 277 producers and the data from the National Household Survey (2016) were used to assess the dimensions of food security. It was found that local food has lower elasticity values than foreign one, but the variability of local food prices is higher. In addition, 27.3% of the population does not satisfy the caloric requirements, and that the quinoa consumption is associated with its nutritional value and cultural factors. Narrative reviews, original articles with cross-sectional, and retrospective or prospective designs, were included. Collaboration networks of authors and institutions were described. Findings: 136 bibliographic units were identified. The institutions with the highest production were Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (24.52%), the Ministry of Health (14.19%) and the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (7.74%). The definition of Primary Health Care is reviewed, as whole-of-society approach to health that aims at ensuring the highest possible level of health and well-being and their equitable distribution by focusing on people's needs and as early as possible along the continuum from health promotion and disease prevention to treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care, and as close as feasible to people's everyday environment. Some distortions of the term are described and explained,such as Primary care, Selective Primary health care and Basic Healthcare. Finally, some proposals are postulated to implement it in health facilities in urban areas, including an application case.

Objetivo: Determinar las tendencias de la investigación sobre financiamiento de Sistemas de Salud en Latinoamérica entre 2018-2022. Métodos: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal, retrospectivo, análisis bibliométrico. La estrategia de búsqueda fue en PubMed en idiomas inglés, portugués y español. Se priorizaron artículos originales, análisis conceptuales, revisiones, libros y tesis. Se presentaron tablas dinámicas y medidas de resumen.
