Reviewing the different theories about che comprehension of mass media effects, this article tries to explain the interaction arnong the media. cognition and learning. The synrhesis of different aspects of the intermediation are also described including the parents' and teachers' role in the process. The situation of mass media in Peru is briefly discussed.

A survey was applied to subjects that had concluded their studies in psychology in a university of Lima. The results make rvident that educational institutions are the main work source for psychologists even though the majority of them have a dcfinite clinical background.

The authors wam on the danger of using pseudo-adaptations in intelligence testing. A reference to the Wechsler Scales and the WlSC-R is done in the first place. Secondly, sorne Spanish adaptations of the test are mentioned. Finally, a bibliographical review conceming socio-cultural studies is presented. In these studies the emphasis is on the discrepancy that exists in different ethnic groups and populations.
