Durante la pandemia del pH1N1 se atendieron casos severos de neumonías por diferentes etiologías, por lo que nosotros quisimos describir y comparar las características clínicas y laboratoriales de los casos de neumonías positivas y negativas al pH1N1.Estudio trasversal analítico, se revisaron las historias clínicas de los niños hospitalizados por neumonía entre los meses de junio a octubre del 2009 en el Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño con exámenes virológicos de tr-PCR TR para pH1N1 e infiltrado pulmonares en sus radiografías.Estudiamos a 187 casos de neumonía, de los cuales 50 fueron neumonía adquirida en la comunidad (NAC) positivas al pH1N1 y 24 fueron como neumonía nosocomial (NN) positivas al pH1N1, de ellos fallecieron 12; todos presentaron factores preexistentes. Objective: To determine the epidemiology of chickenpox hospitalizations. Design: Case series study. Setting: National Institute of Child Health, Lima, Peru. Participants: Children with chickenpox. Interventions: Children hospitalized for chickenpox from 2001 to 2011 at Peru’s National Institute of Child Health (INSN) -country without routine vaccination against this infection- were identified from the statistical office data. Main outcome measures: Seasonal variability of children hospitalized with chickenpox. Results: We studied 1 566 children hospitalized for chickenpox, with mean age 2 years 6 months; 46.4% (727/1 466) were female, median hospital stay was 6 days (IQR: 9.4). The most affected group was 0 to 2 years corresponding to 55% (864/1 566). There was seasonal distribution in months’ frequency with annual increasing trend. ObjectiveTo determine the clinical and demographic characteristics of pneumonia with influenza virus AH1N1/2009 pandemic at the National Institute of Child. Methods. Retrospective case series in children hospitalized for influenza pneumonia pandemic AH1N1/2009 in a pediatric hospital. Reviewed the medical records between the months of June to September 2009. All cases had virological confirmation, we describe the clinical characteristics and conditions of severity. Results. A total of 74 children of pneumonia with influenza virus AH1N1/2009 pandemic (NVIp), of those 50 were community acquire pneumonia viral (NACv) and 24 pneumonia nosocomial viral (NNv), 16 required mechanical ventilation. 12 died, all had preexisting factors.
