To examine the opinions and perspectives of Peruvian doctors, lawyers, and notaries on advance directives, based on familiarity with Law 29633, a qualitative study was carried out. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 professionals following an open approach with subsequent thematic analysis according to Braun and Clarke. Most respondents were male. The ages ranged from 35 to 60 years, with work experience of 10 to 30 years. Objective: To evaluate fertility preferences on decreasing the number of children by comparing types of employment in Peruvian female workers. Materials and methods: A secondary analysis of the 2014 National Demographic and Family Health Survey (ENDES) was conducted. The study sample consisted of 13,074 female workers of childbearing age who had sexual intercourse in the last 30 days. The dependent variable was the total number of live births. The main independent variables were fertility preferences (ideal number of children and birth spacing preference), age at first marriage, and wealth index. The odds ratio calculation was used for ordinal logistic regression analysis. Results: The average of live births among female employees is lower (1.49) than that among female self-employed (2.44). This situation is associated with decreased fertility: the ideal number of children is from ...

Objective: To estimate the factors associated with psychological and physical domestic violence against Peruvian adolescents considering the ecological model of violence. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study based on a secondary analysis of the 2015 National Survey on Social Relations (ENARES) database. A three-stage stratified cluster sampling was conducted with 1,500 adolescents. The main variables were physical and psychological violence. The associated variables were also analyzed following the ecological model and using logistic regression for determining odds ratios (OR) and 95 % confidence intervals (95 % CI). Results: From among the surveyed adolescents, 23.73 % experienced severe psychological violence and 42.47 % severe physical violence. Men were less exposed to psychological violence (OR = 0.60; 95 % CI: 0.41 – 0.86) compared to women. Witnessing constant fights b...
