Objective: To identify the prevalence, characteristics and factors associated with alcohol consumptionamong university students in the Lima Metropolitan Area during the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic in Peru, from March 16 to June 30, 2020. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional and analytical study was conducted using an online survey administered to 257 students. Descriptive analyses and logistic regressions were performed to determine odds ratios (OR) and their 95 % confidence intervals (95 % CI). The study evaluated the association between alcohol consumption and various sociodemographic, economic and health variables, as well as general and academic stress, fear of COVID-19, third-party provision of alcohol and perceived ease of access to alcohol. This research has the objective of to estimate the predictive value of gender-specific sociodemographic, individual and contextual factors for the marijuana use in the last year in the general population of Lima. The study was cross-sectional descriptive and analytical using the database of the Study on Drug Prevention and Consumption in the General Population of Metropolitan Lima and Callao- 2013 conducted by the National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (DEVIDA). The sample consisted of 18,562 participants from 12 to 65 years randomly selected. Descriptive analyzes and logistic regressions was used for complex samples. In general, statistically significant differences were found between males and females in last 12 months prevalence of marijuana use.
