Introducción: El Síndrome de Intestino Irritable (SII) es una condición crónica funcional. La prevalencia mundial de esta enfermedad según criterios de ROMA III y ROMA IV es 9.2% y 3.8%. En el Perú no se conoce con precisión las características de los pacientes diagnosticados con SII a partir de estos nuevos criterios. Objetivo: Describir características clínicas y epidemiológicas del SII según criterios ROMA IV en una clínica privada de Lima-Perú durante el 2022. Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional-analítico. 196 de 277 participantes cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. Se empleó un cuestionario diagnóstico para SII ROMA IV, demográfico y de signos de alarma. Se revisaron las historias clínicas para verificar el diagnóstico establecido en base a criterios clínicos. Peer teaching is an educational methodology in which groups of students interact among each other. One group takes on the role of the educator and the other one takes on the role of the student, which benefits both of them. We report here the case of a program where this methodology was used by students in a medical school in Lima, Peru, who were tutors of junior students from the same faculty. The activities and resources used in this methodology are also described.
