This paper expounds the issue about the evolution of the dissolved oxygen concentration in synthetic wastewater with a circular rotary by setting a mathematical model. The mathematical model is based on the Lewis and Whitman relations to transfer oxygen to water, and includes the mechanistic models proposed by Lee, to determine the global oxygen transfer coefficient and the oxygen saturation concentration in water, as a function of the fifth power temperature. For this purpose, historical data from aeration experiments with two types of discs and two levels of COD concentration were compared. The equation allows to include the effect of the variation of the temperature and atmospheric pressure. Finally, through the data obtained, it's concluded that the estimation error is not affected by the type of disc, the COD concentration of the synthetic wastewater or by the interaction of both, a...

In the face of increasing water scarcity aggravated by climate change, the rainwater harvesting system is a technique that increases the water supply for various purposes. The objective of this research is to analyse the recent literature published on the rainwater collection system, for which the systematic review method was used. The main form of rainwater catchment are roofs, but the material used is important because it can affect the quality of the water. Some physicochemical parameters of rainwater may be within the standards for human consumption, but it is contaminated by pathogenic microorganisms, which represents a risk to public health if it is consumed without prior treatment, so it is mainly used for irrigation and flushing toilets. However, this system has been implemented mainly in rural areas to satisfy their basic needs, including human consumption, because these places ...

In the high mountain ecosystems of the Huaytapallana Regional Conservation Area (ACR-H) there are three species of flora (Krapfia macropetala, Gentianella scarlatinostriata and Senecio canescens) of social, economic, cultural and medicinal importance, however their population status and undefined local distribution make these species area more vulnerable to extinction. Therefore, the objective of this work is to determine the population distribution for repopulation purpose in the ACR-H from the potential distribution in Peru using Maxent algorithm and a local model developed with the Saaty pairwise hierarchy matrix, adding a soil sample for a better application of the final model. The results show that the Species Distribution Models (SDMs) have a high confidence because the Area Under the Curve (AUC) surpass 0.90. Otherwise, the local model is consistent by showing a Consistency Ratio ...

Forest fires are one of the main problems that affect biodiversity and forest heterogeneity, which are caused by human or natural activities and even driven by climate change. The objective of this study was to analyze the severity of forest fires with the NBR index (Normalized Burn Ratio) in highland areas of Peru, and evaluate the vegetative recovery of forest species in the affected area with the NDVI index (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index). As a result, it was obtained that the type of vegetation in the affected area is the Andean Pajonal, the level of severity in the study area ranges from low to moderately high, with low severity being the predominant one, which occupies 57,562% of the study area. The NDVI evaluation of 2 weeks before, 2 weeks after and 3 months after the event show that there is a vegetative regeneration of the vegetation cover, two weeks after the event in...

Potatoes have a high production demand in the world, but they are constantly under threat from germination to harvest due to pest infestation; for control, insecticides are used, which are highly polluting chemicals, systemic insecticides of the carbamate group due to their mode of action, with contact activity against different pests. This research sought to evaluate the influence of carbofuran on soil macronutrients in the District of Chongos Bajo, in the highlands of Peru. Through the experimental study method, with a quantitative research approach in a deductive process. We worked with a representative area of 10 m2 with 6 analyses of soil samples every 15 days in a period of 3 months. The results showed a loss value of 7.85% of total nitrogen, 14.05% of available phosphorus and 10% of available potassium in the period of 90 days, where there was a variation in the pH in water with a...

The artisan production of bricks has been a factor for the emergence of environmental conflicts in our country. For this reason, the objective of the investigation intends to evaluate and describe the environmental impacts through the CONESA methodology with respect to the brick manufacturing process in the Cormis—Jauja Population Center, for which 21 brick kilns were located in the field and the area was delimited. study area by occupation area. As a starting point, the earth extraction and firing stages were identified as those that generate the greatest environmental impact in the production of artisanal bricks. Of which, 7 aspects and 18 environmental impacts were identified, 3 of which are of severe importance and the rest are moderate in such a way that the depletion of the soil resource and the alteration of air quality are of greater importance with an assessment of − 63 and ...

The study focuses on the design of the MK3 kiln as an eco-friendly solution to mitigate the pollution of (PM2.5 and PM10) generated by artisanal brick kilns. The MK3 kiln consists of three chambers constructed with construction and demolition waste (CDW), interconnected by lower ducts that aid in the continuous flow of heat and filter pollutants. Each kiln has a 5 cm opening in the dome to accommodate a copper industrial torch with a power of 1080 BTU/h, equivalent to 0.32 kW. Additionally, a 220V axial fan is installed in the chimney to supply the necessary air to the kilns through upper ducts, allowing complete combustion during the brick baking process. As a result, PM2.5 was measured at a quantity of 23 μg/m 3 , and PM10 emissions at 90 μg/m 3 , both of which do not exceed Environmental Quality Standards (ECA). Regarding the brick baking process, heat is recovered from the "combust...
