El objetivo de esta revisión de literatura es proporcionar evidencia científica sobre la formación de las lesiones de mancha blanca durante el tratamiento de ortodoncia, su incidencia, prevalencia, factores de riesgo relacionados con su desarrollo, progresión y regresión, además de explicar los métodos de diagnóstico más utilizados. Resultados: Se encontró que la incidencia de manchas blancas durante el tratamiento de ortodoncia varía ampliamente según el método de diagnóstico utilizado y el tiempo de tratamiento ortodóntico; sin embargo, no está relacionada a la edad ni sexo del paciente. La incidencia de lesiones de mancha blanca fue mayor en pacientes tratados con brackets convencionales, seguido de aquellos que usaron brackets de autoligado y fue menor en pacientes que usaron alineadores. The aim of this review was to determine the incidence of different types of treatment and the prevalence of root resorption in incisors induced by orthodontic treatment in patients with open bite. Libraries and electronic databases were searched, with 322 articles being selected and 55 articles considered regarding the PRISMA checklist. It has been shown that apical root resorption of the incisors is more frequent in patients with premolar extractions than in those treated without extractions, due to greater apical displacement during retraction of the anterior teeth in the space closure phase. Objetivos: Determinar el uso de los servicios odontológicos según afiliación a seguro de salud de los peruanos en el año 2016. Métodos: Estudio transversal, observacional y retrospectivo usando datos de la Encuesta Nacional de Hogares (ENAHO) 2016 del Perú. Se consideró estar asegurado cuando el adulto estaba afiliado a cualquier seguro (públicos, privados u otros) y se consideró el uso del servicio odontológico en los últimos tres meses. Se analizaron las características del jefe del hogar (sexo, edad, educación, área de residencia y región) y se midieron las diferencias mediante la prueba de Chi-cuadrado con un 95 % nivel de confianza.
