This study developed and validated a method of analysis by UHPL-DAD to detect and quantify Ivermectin (IVM) residues in wastewater. The implementation of this method consisted of a robust and efficient method, where the retention time for this residue was 3.1 min. However, the parameters considered in the validation process of the analytical method were: selectivity, linearity, detection limit, quantification limit and recovery percentage; the method is selective, the correlation coefficient is R2 ≥ 0.99, it presents a detection limit (LD) of 0.003 µg L-1, a quantification limit (LQ) of 0.01 µg L-1, and a recovery percentage of 90% (with fortification of 0.1 µg L-1).

Olive leaves are residues from pruning and harvesting and are considered an environmental management problems. Interestingly, these residues contain high polyphenol concentrations, which can be used to treat chronic diseases. However, these compounds are a technological challenge due to their thermolability and reactivity during extraction. Thus, this study assessed the use of pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) with green solvents like water-ethanol and water-glycerol mixtures (0–15%) at 50 °C and 70 °C to yield polyphenol-rich antioxidant extracts with reduced glucose and fructose content. The use of 30% ethanol at 70°C presented the highest polyphenol content (15.29 mg gallic acid equivalent/g dry weight) and antioxidant capacity, which was expressed as IC50 (half maximal inhibitory concentration): 5.49 mg/mL and oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC): 1259 μmol Trolox equiva...

Shepherds intentionally burn certain high Andean grasslands to stimulate the regrowth of grass. Nevertheless, this practice results in the generation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), which contaminate and can leach into the soil and be absorbed by plants. Ultimately, this adversely affects the livestock graze on these contaminated plants. The objective of this study was to evaluate the presence of 15 PAHs at the surface, 10, 20, and 30 cm depth, immediately and three months after burning natural grasses in Somoa, Carumas-Peru, during the year 2021. UHPLC-FLD determined PAHs, and the QuEChERS method was used to extract the PAHs from soil samples. Twelve of the 15 PAHs listed by the USEPA were found. The highest concentration was found at the surface, followed by the 10, 20, and 30 cm (759,63, 157,99, 85,86, and 68,04 ng g−1, respectively). On the other hand, Acenaphthene pres...
