Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has been associated with higher risk of gastrointestinal disorders, particularly Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). However, the magnitude of this association and the underlying mechanisms remains unclear. Methods: A systematic search was conducted across major databases from inception to November 2024. We included cross-sectional and case-control studies evaluating the relationship between CKD and GERD. Data were extracted and analyzed using a random-effects model to calculate pooled odds ratios (ORs) and prevalence rates. Se revisaron reportes de casos publicados en la base de datos bibliográficos de Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science y Google Scholar desde el año 2020 al 2021. Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are two common comorbidities that share similar pathophysiological mechanisms. There is a growing interest in the potential of targeted therapies to improve outcomes in patients with coexisting HFrEF and NAFLD. The quality of online material for patients varies significantly, and this is not different for material on gastrointestinal cancers. We aimed to assess English and Spanish online patient information addressing esophageal, gastric, and colorectal cancer treatment. Six independent Google searches were conducted using the terms: esophageal cancer treatment, gastric cancer treatment, colorectal cancer treatment, and their translations in Spanish.
